The Children’s Maritime Institute is the Long Beach-based division of the Los Angeles Maritime Institute, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been providing hands-on learning experiences to young people throughout Southern California for more than 30 years.

With the support of the community, we introduce local youth to a unique, inspiring and challenging exploration in active learning through sail training. Our programs foster self-empowerment and curiosity, while giving the young people an opportunity to practice valuable skills like problem-solving and teamwork.

Your gifts also allow us to provide real-life context to important subjects like science, mathematics and history, as well as raise awareness about the environmental impacts to our oceans and local waters in and around the Port of Long Beach.
